Group Fares to France for only £8 Return with Brittany Ferries

Leading operator on the Western Channel, Brittany Ferries, has announced some really attractive 24 hour excursion fares for groups of 10 or more passengers. Available on all services to Caen and Cherbourg throughout 2007, the basic rate is only £8 return, including a reclining seat on overnight crossings from Sunday to Thursday. And, as a bonus for group organisers, coaches are carried free when there are more than 30 passengers, with a free berth and meals for the coach driver.

Cherbourg
Cherbourg is Brittany Ferries' closest French port, making it perfect for daytrips. The Cité de la Mer maritime exhibition provides hours of entertainment, while the town's street markets, shops and hypermarkets are always full of bargains. With twice daily high-speed crossings of only 3 hours from Portsmouth, it is possible to leave the UK at 08.00, arrive in Cherbourg at 12.00 and spend the day there before returning at 20.15, arriving back in Portsmouth at 22.00. Alternatively, more leisurely crossings can be taken on the cruise-ferry services from Poole.

Caen
Caen offers all the usual attractions you would expect from a major city, plus the ultra-modern Museum of Peace, William the Conqueror's remarkably well-preserved castle and the nearby world-famous Bayeux Tapestry. With 3 crossings each way every day it is possible to travel both ways overnight and spend a full day in Caen.
