Brittany Ferries lowers the cost of a return trip to France to only £9.95

Brittany Ferries has reduced the cost of a 24-hour excursion fare from £19.95 to only £9.95 per person with immediate effect. Furthermore, it can be used on any high-speed service as well as those operated by classic cruise-ferry.

The fare applies to all routes: Poole-Cherbourg, Portsmouth-Caen, Portsmouth-Cherbourg, Portsmouth-St.Malo, and Plymouth-Roscoff. Routes can be mixed so it is possible, for example, to travel out to Caen from Portsmouth and back from Cherbourg to Poole.

This special price represents truly outstanding value and, with Brittany Ferries’ wide range of routes and new high-speed ferry services, the prospect of a day trip is so much more attractive this year. Just see what can be done out of Poole:

Depart Poole at 23.59 for a relaxing overnight crossing to Cherbourg where you will arrive at 06.30 the next day. There is a shuttle bus that runs between the terminal and the town centre that operates in conjunction with ship arrival and departure times.
After a coffee and croissant in one of the many sidewalk cafes, you can spend the morning at the Cite de la Mer where it is possible to visit the largest submarine in the world open to the public and the largest aquarium in Europe. The tour takes 3 ½ hours so by then you’ll be ready for a real French lunch.
Every Thursday there is a market in the town centre and there are many museums and parks to visit during the afternoon. The Thomas Henry Museum, for example, houses the second largest collection of Jean-Francois Millet’s paintings in France after the Musee d’Orsay in Paris. The Liberation Museum, also well worth a visit, is located a fort overlooking the harbour.
After tea, it is time to make those purchases! There is a large hypermarket in the centre of town as well as many wine “caves” all speaking English and offering wines that can be tasted together with lots of friendly advice.
The departure back to Poole is conveniently scheduled for 20.00 to allow time for a leisurely meal in Les Dunes Restaurant on board before arriving back in Poole at 23.00.
All for a fare of £9.95!

Note to Editors
• The use of a reclining seat is included in the fare, but a cabin may be booked at a discount of 50% off the published price.

• A car may be taken for only £19.95 but there must be a minimum of 2 passengers travelling together.

• Supplements of £5 per person and £5 per vehicle apply on all Friday overnight and Saturday morning departures from the UK.
