Tall Ships Race 2005, Cherbourg
Great savings to be made with Brittany Ferries to and from France
Take advantage of some great fares with Brittany Ferries this summer and hop across the channel to celebrate one of France’s main maritime events of the year, The Tall Ships Race 2005.
Between the 14th and 17th July, over 3,000 sailors and 100 tall ships will converge on the French seaside town of Cherbourg for four days of festivities – perfect for family entertainment! While in port, visitors will have the opportunity to board many of the ships as well as witness exuberant crew parades as young trainees take to the streets with banners, flags, hooters, whistles and anything else they can lay their hands on! Visitors will also be able to see all the ships underway on the final day when the ships slip their moorings and depart in a stunning Parade of Sail.
Brittany Ferries fares start from £186 using our Poole/Cherbourg classic cruise ferry service for stays of up to five days in July for a car and two adults, with children under 16 travelling free. Low fares are also available for travel on high-speed and classic cruise-ferries from Portsmouth and also the high speed service from Poole. Supplements apply at weekends. Availability is limited and fares can be withdrawn at any time so passengers are advised to book soon.
These special fares can also be used with Brittany Ferries’ own extensive range of holiday accommodation including gites, hotels, holiday villages, villas, apartments, chalet camping, car tours and river cruisers. For example, ‘Ste Marie du Mont’ (ref: QN3100) is a beautiful small terraced property situated within an area famously known for its long sandy beaches and wild headlands. Prices start from £311 per week based on up to four people sharing commencing 9 July.
Brittany Ferries has services from Portsmouth to Caen, St Malo, and Cherbourg, from Poole to Cherbourg and from Plymouth to Roscoff and Santander in Northern Spain.
