Stylishly converted from a magnificent stone palace built in 1702 around a much older house, this is indeed a splendid place to stay. Set in secluded gardens behind a high stone wall, the elegant Palacio offers modern comfort in classical Spanish style yet still retains many fascinating features including stonework and pillars. It has an excellent restaurant and beautiful bedrooms, all decorated differently, are reached by a stunning Renaissance staircase. Puente Viesgo's prehistoric cave paintings, the Cabárceno wildlife park, and Pedreña golf course are all within driving distance.
