Brittany Ferries upgrades website

With more and more holiday sales being made online, Brittany Ferries has launched a new website designed to make booking by this method far easier, not just for ferry bookings but for self-drive holidays as well. At the same time a series of regional guides has been introduced giving useful information, all designed to enable holidaymakers make a more informed holiday choice. Suggestions abound on what to eat, drink, or see – even what to do with the kids.

In keeping with holiday booking behaviour, the website will contain 400 gites in addition to the 1200 gites and cottages in the French Collection brochure and all are bookable via the website. Said Christiane Barker, General Manager Holiday Products: " In the printed brochure we are limited by space as to the number of pictures we can show of any one property, whereas we can show up to seven pictures on the website which helps the holidaymaker gain a much better idea of what any property can offer. Therefore searching for that ideal gite or holiday cottage is now much easier and, by booking online, a saving of £5 per booking can be made!"

The look and feel of the site has been redesigned with a “smart” FAQ section, making it much easier to use, particularly for the first-time user.

Stephen James, Sales Development Manager for Brittany Ferries added:
" Figures from ABTA show that 19% of holidaymakers now book their package holiday online – six times more than in the year 2000 and the trend for booking ferry travel online is even more pronounced. We are responding to this by investing a considerable amount in our new website to make it much easier to use as well as offering more information and holiday products. We hope our customers and travel agents like it."
