450km of coastline that includes endless beach and dunes backed by thick pine forest. All of the breaks are very accessible with great road networks through the Vendee and Charente. There is little excuse for not visiting this dynamic surf region.

This area of France has plenty of unspoiled breaks and whilst not as famous as its counterparts in the South West there is plenty to try your hand at and brag about when you get home. This area of central France lends itself very well to some of the classic ideologies of surfing, as in kick back, relax and go get yourself a chilled out session.

La Sauzaie - Beach

The number one spot in the area, this reef break has nice rights and lefts and it produces quality barrels when the going is good. When the swell hits this break really works.

Les Dunes - Beach

An easy to find beach break that is popular among longboarders situated between St Gilles and Les Sables d’Olonnes. Not the greatest wave you will ever surf, but ideal to make progress or for a relaxing session.

Sauveterre - Beach

Two sandy reef breaks, “Pic du Large” and “Pic du Phoque”, both are right handers that work well on a swell.

Bud Bud - Beach

Just south of Longeville, Bud Bud is heralded by many a surfer as the best beach break in the area. With good quality lefts and rights that work on all tides. Creates some powerful waves when the right swell comes in. Can get busy during the summer holidays.
