Impress Your Loved One This Valentines Day. Take Them On A Mini-Cruise To France For Just £78*

How's this for a way to impress your partner on Valentine's Day? Take them on an overnight cruise to St Malo on board Brittany Ferries' £100 million flagship, Pont Aven, departing at 8.30 pm on the 14th February. There's plenty of time to enjoy a really great 3-course dinner featuring such delicacies as fresh oysters, rack of lamb and crème brûlée for just £12.95 per person in the stylish Le Flora restaurant before retiring to your 4 berth outside en-suite cabin. Now, where could you have such value in the UK?

Arriving at 09.30 the next morning why not have a coffee and freshly-baked croissant at one of the many cafés in the beautiful walled city of St Malo before taking a walk around its ramparts. A leisurely drive along the pretty coastal road to the famous oyster port of Cancale will take about 30 minutes and possibly put you in the mood for a visit to the oyster museum where you can learn how oysters are farmed. Or you can simply stroll along the seafront.

Then it's time to think about lunch. There are many options available, but your best bet is to stop at one of the restaurants or cafés that abound on Mont St Michel, about half an hour's drive from Cancale. Afterwards you'll have to think about getting to Ouistreham to catch the 5.15 pm ferry back to Portsmouth. It'll take you about 1½ hours so, with a quick lunch, it may be possible to take in the spectacular tapestry at Bayeux en route. Or you can take a more relaxed drive along the coast taking in the D-Day beaches, such as Omaha beach and Arromanches. The return ferry will get you back in Portsmouth at 10.15 pm and if you'd like the privacy of a cabin after all those oysters, it costs only £10 extra.

* Price includes return ferry crossing for 2 people with car and a 4 berth outside cabin on the outward overnight crossing.
