Fast channel crossings return to Portsmouth

High speed ferry crossings from Portsmouth to France resume on April 1 with the return of the Normandie Express, the largest fast ferry sailing on the English Channel. With daily return sailings to Cherbourg, as well as weekend departures to Caen, passengers will once again be able to travel to western France with their car in as little as 180 minutes.

The Normandie Express departs Portsmouth each morning from Monday to Thursday at 08.00 am, allowing holidaymakers to arrive in Cherbourg in time for an early lunch before making the easy drive to some of the best holiday areas of France. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, convenient morning departures to Caen are offered, as well as afternoon departures to Cherbourg.

The timetable is also ideal for those wishing to make a daytrip to France, with excursion fares starting from as little as £20 per person.
