Man's best friend holidays too, with Brittany Ferries

It's shaping up to be another record year for pets travelling with their owners on Brittany Ferries award-winning services and facilities. Latest Brittany Ferries figures show that booking for pets is already up 21% compared to last year.

Brittany Ferries is well-geared towards pet transportation, and provides a much less stressful environment for travel than airlines. Brittany Ferries luxury flagship, Pont Aven, currently operating between Plymouth and Santander, but commences a brand new service for Brittany Ferries in April 2009 from Portsmouth to Santander, is equipped with 42 kennels within a special area on one of its upper decks. Owners can go and visit their pets as often as they wish.

The relaxation of UK's strict quarantine laws in recent years; including the introduction of the 'Pet Travel Scheme' will see the trend of taking pets on holiday continue to steadily rise. Anyone thinking of heading to France or Spain on a self-catering holiday should definitely consider taking their much loved pet. When your beloved pooch is travelling with you, you avoid the worry of leaving him/her at home, and you don't have to pay for kennel fees, which gives you more money to spend on holiday!

The ease with which pets can now be taken by ferry and car to France and Spain, combined with Brittany Ferries' facilities for your pet, and the low cost associated with this service – £37.50 return to take your pet to France, and £60 return crossing for your pet to holiday with you in Spain – are factors that will contribute to continued growth for 'Man's Best Friend' being able to take a break too.
