Visit Nîmes for some of the best preserved Roman architecture in the world, including the magnificent arena, Les Arènes. You’ll also find an excellent choice of cafés, bistros and boutiques. The city of Montpellier is incredibly lively, with openair cafés and street performers all along the Promenade du Peyrou. It also has the oldest botanic gardens in the country, plus a remarkably elegant aqueduct.
