Caen Ferry Terminal Guide

The newest ferry-port on the Channel, Ouistreham is just 15 kilometres north of Caen.

By Car

The terminal is well sign-posted from the main access routes around Caen as "CAR FERRY". The autoroute is close to the port and offers easy access to Paris, the Loire, the south, and Brittany. Take the N175 to Mont St Michel and Brittany. The N13 connects Caen to Bayeux and Cherbourg, and the N158 leads to Le Mans and the Loire Valley.

By Taxi

There are usually taxis waiting outside the terminal for ship arrivals and departures. If there are no taxis, the tourist information desk can call a taxi for you.
Taxi fares from the terminal to Caen train station range from 30€ during the day (7am to 7pm) to 40€ in the evening (7pm to 7am)*.

By Train

The nearest railway station is in Caen, about 18km from the port.

By Bus

There is a shuttle service between Ouistreham and Caen. This service does not run for the evening ferry arrivals in Ouistreham.

Caen Terminal Facilities

Baby changing room

There are no baby care/changing facilities.

Cafeteria/Bar

The bar is open from 06h30 to 23h00.

Bureau de change

There is a Bureau de Change facility, which is open for all sailings and at the weekends.

Services for the Disabled

Wheelchairs are available in the terminal.

Left Luggage

There is no facility for left luggage at the terminal.

Shuttle Bus

There is a shuttle bus which transports foot passengers between the passenger terminal and the ships for arrivals and departures.

Telephones

Phone card payphones can be found in the terminal. Phone cards can be purchased from the tourist information office which is open to coincide with all sailings.

The Brittany Ferries information desk is open from 06h45 - 23h59.

The tourist information is open throughout the year. For enquiries, ring 02 31 96 89 70.

Parking

There is an open car park at the passenger terminal for a maximum stay of 72 hours. There is no charge for parking here but it is at the owner’s risk.
