An electric break in Normandy
French synthesizer maestro, Jean Michel Jarre is bringing his spectacular son et lumière roadshow to Normandy this November, and Brittany Ferries has teamed up with event organisers to put together a package comprising ferry travel and hotel accommodation, as well as VIP show tickets giving concertgoers a chance to meet the man himself.
Jean Michel Jarre surged to fame 33 years ago with his electrifying album Oxygène. He went on to sell 80 million records whilst achieving global renown for his intoxicating blend of pulsating sound and mesmerising light. The star comes to Caen's Zenith arena on Thursday 25 November with a concert themed around the futuristic hopes and dreams of Arthur C Clarke, a close friend of Jarre and author of the science-fiction classic 2001: A Space Odyssey.
This break includes return crossings between Portsmouth and Caen, with en suite cabin accommodation provided. There's also plenty of time to visit Caen – a fascinating town, virtually wiped out in 1944 but which has since been sympathetically rebuilt while maintaining its old -world charm.
Visitors are spoilt for choice with two abbeys, eight splendid churches, tree-lined river walks, markets and wide streets lined with stylish shops and good restaurants. After a comfortable night at the centrally located Holiday Inn, there's time to visit the famous Normandy beaches and maybe stock up on cheese and wine before returning to Portsmouth.
The total package price is just £189 per person including return ferry crossing, hotel accommodation plus VIP concert tickets. Spaces for this one-off break are limited so early booking is recommended. Customers can reserve their place now by calling 0871 244 0467 quoting 'Jarre'.
