About the Brest 2008 festival
This international festival of sailors and the sea takes in almost 2,000 boats, from professional to amateur and traditional to modern, and 15,000 sailors from 30 countries.
Sailboats cast off each day to enjoy the exhilaration of sailing and racing, but there are also spontaneous nautical activities that take place within the harbour shelter to the delight of quayside spectators, whilst firework displays, naval parades and other attractions provide great entertainment throughout the week.
