The vessel originally operated on the Cook Strait in New Zealand under the name 'The Lynx.' Brittany Ferries announced it would charter the vessel and rename her 'Normandie Express' for her new role on the routes between Portsmouth to Cherbourg and Portsmouth to Caen. The vessel operates a seasonal service, typically between mid May and mid September. Crossing times average just 180 minutes to Cherbourg. Normandie Express runs a return trip to Cherbourg each day (view timetable).
