French golf holidays and breaks
Whilst France rightly boasts a long list of reasons to visit on holiday, golf is not usually top of that list. But more and more visiting golfers are discovering the great courses, the affordable green fees and the top notch après golf. Just think what the Ryder Cup of 2018 will do to spread the game even more.
An easy drive from the Breton ports of St Malo and Roscoff, Northern Brittany welcomes the golfer with a sumptuous menu of courses.
Better known for campsites and family holidays, Southern Brittany offers truly enjoyable golf in some wonderful settings.
There's a choice of links courses along Normandy's west coast at Granville and Coutainville with stylish Dinard across the Bay of Mont St Michel.
Near to Caen there's a great choice of golf with 36 holes at Omaha Beach to the west and the undulating holes at Clécy to the south.
Take the motorway towards Paris to access some great golf in the heart of Normandy. Champ de Bataille is stunning when the rhododendrons are in flower!
An easy drive from Caen or Le Havre are some of the finest courses around Paris including Lys Chantilly, Apremont and Raray.
Golf du Château des 7 Tours offers tranquil holiday golf; there's more of a challenge at Tours d'Ardrée and Golf d'Orleans Limère.
Just over the border from Brittany this region boasts some deservedly well-known courses which are a surprisingly easy drive from our Channel ports.
If you fancy heading further south, there are some wonderful golfing challenges. Pick of the bunch, and one of Europe's best, is Seignosse.
