Golf du Château des 7 Tours offers tranquil holiday golf; there's more of a challenge at Tours d'Ardrée and Golf d'Orleans Limère with their tricky hazards in stunning surroundings and Orleans Donnery offers a delightful golfing experience. A little to the west is Golf d'Anjou, the hidden gem of Sablé Solesmes, and the course adjacent to the race track at Le Mans. Or try the stunning Les Aisses, a must play on any golfers list. All courses are within easy reach of our arrival ports.

Golf de Bauge

Golf de Bauge combines beautiful countryside with some striking golf. The course, although hilly in parts, is a complete joy to play with each hole having a different character. Receive a warm welcome in the characterful clubhouse, a great way to relax after 18 holes.

Our opinion: Super parkland course, highly recommended. Favourite Hole: 15th.

Golf des Aisses Golf des Aisses

Golf des Aisses

Situated in the Sologne region of the Loire Valley, Aisses is reminiscent of and inspired by the old heathland courses of the UK. Re-designed by Martin Hawtree, this course boasts large fairways and generous greens, making it a really enjoyable track with an exciting layout of three loops of nine holes.

Our opinion: Everybody should play here. A fantastic course. Favourite Hole: 1st.

FGV006 Golf d'Orleans Limere Golf d'Orléans Limère

Golf d'Orléans Limère

Laid out in the beautiful Sologne forest, Golf d'Orléans Limère has many water hazards and some fearsome bunkers. The Peugeot Golf Guide describes it as one of the finest French courses with exemplary architecture. Having hosted several French PGA Championships, the course is maintained to a very high standard.

Our opinion: A very good, 'must play' course! Favourite Hole: 14th.

FGV005 Golf de Tours d'Ardree Golf de Tours d'Ardrée

Golf de Tours d'Ardrée

Set in the pretty grounds of the Château d'Ardrée, Golf de Tours d'Ardrée provides a tough challenge for any golfer. With plenty of water hazards and deep bunkers this pleasant and tranquil course is a real test of a golfer's ability.

Our opinion: In superb surroundings, this is certainly worth a visit. Favourite Hole: 16th.

FGL017 Golf d'Anjou Golf d'Anjou

Golf d'Anjou runs through tranquil, undulating countryside with numerous lakes and water hazards. Facilities include a covered practice area, a swimming pool (in summer season) and a lunch time restaurant if you wish to dine.

Our opinion: A superb course. A must play! Favourite Hole: 3rd.

FGV003 Golf du Chateau des 7 Tours Golf du Château des 7 Tours

Golf du Château des 7 Tours

Set around a striking 15th century château, Golf du Château des 7 Tours is an ideal holiday course - flat, tranquil and running through picturesque parkland. There are some excellent holes, of which the 16th is probably the most challenging. The château hotel also provides an excellent base for touring the region.

Our opinion: A very pleasant course and an easy walk. Suitable for all abilities. Favourite Hole: 8th.

Chateau de Cheverny Chateau de Cheverny

Chateau de Cheverny

This beautiful 18 hole course, set in the heart of the Loire Valley, was designed by Olivier van der Vynckt on 650 acres of old hunting ground. The course meanders along the valley, providing a chance to play the game in a truly beautiful setting.

Our opinion: Must visit and play, stunning. Favourite Hole: 5th.

Hotel Escale Oceania

The location and private parking make this hotel an ideal choice for either a short stopover or longer stay. Alongside the river Loire and a pleasant 15 minute stroll into the centre of Orléans, the Escale Oceania is easy to find and has welcoming friendly staff who will do their utmost to make your stay an enjoyable one. A buffet breakfast is served in the bright conservatory. Simply furnished but comfortable bedrooms are spread over two floors and all have air conditioning and either king size or large single beds and there is also a pleasant bar lounge. Orléans, whose name is forever associated with Joan of Arc and the Hundred Years War, is a busy market and industrial town standing at the most northerly point of the river Loire. Although badly damaged during WWII, it has been carefully restored so as not to detract from its historical areas and is a good base from which to explore the châteaux of the Loire.

Tours has many lovely parks and gardens as well as a remarkable old quarter of narrow streets full of interesting houses and shops. And well located in the heart of a lively shopping area close to the town hall and Vinci congress centre, the 18th century Hotel Oceania l'Univers is Tours' oldest hotel and boasts traditional French hospitality, air-conditioned accommodation and an excellent restaurant. The cathedral, railway station and museums are all within walking distance, and the numerous châteaux of the Loire are an easy drive from here. Limited garage parking approx. 12 euros/night.
