Saint-James is a commune near the Mont-Saint-Michel, where, in the late 19th century, an old-style technique for knitting sailors' pullovers was developed and perfected.
Originally a kind of traditional garb destined solely to fishermen, the market for these unique clothing items grew to include navigators and sailing enthusiasts.

Now the "real Breton sailor's pullover knitted from 100% pure virgin wool" has acquired international repute, and the specialised craftsmen of Saint-James are still producing seafaring garb of the finest quality.
