Caen and nearby Bayeux are great places to uncover some medieval history about William the Conqueror. The area also had an important part to play during D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
Cherbourg is famous for its maritime and naval heritage and its spectacular coastline such as the beautiful Cap de la Hague. The city also played its part during the Battle of Normandy in WW2.
Le Havre is a UNESCO protected heritage site after its reconstruction by Auguste Perret, the concrete poet, following the devastation of the city during WW2. Today, it is one of Europe's busiest ports.
