Portsmouth International Port Facilities

Baby changing room

There are baby changing facilities on both the main concourse and mezzanine level.


The bar and World Marche cafeteria are open from 06:00 - 22:30. Pounds Sterling and Euros are accepted as payment.

Bureau de Change

There is no Brittany Ferries Bureau de Change facility available at the port. However, you can call and reserve your holiday currency in advance from Brittany Ferries and collect it as you check in on the day of your departure. Simply call 0330 159 4999 at least 72 hours prior to your departure quoting your booking reference and how many Euros you want and we will have them prepared for easy collection when you check in.

Cash machine

There is an ATM on the ground floor on the side of the Travelex Bureau de Change. This machine offers both Pounds Sterling and Euros.

Costa Coffee

There is a Costa Coffee situated on the mezzanine level of the terminal building. It is open daily from 06:00 - 22:30.

Disabled facilities

  • The terminal has recently installed a new toilet/changing room for people with complex needs. Enhancing a conventional wheelchair-accessible toilet, the Space to Change includes more space, plus an adult-sized height-adjustable changing bench and ceiling tracking hoist.
  • The terminal is easily accessible by wheelchair users and has 2 large customer lifts providing access to and from the 1st (mezzanine) floor
  • Disabled parking spaces are available outside the terminal building for picking up and dropping off disabled passengers
  • Disabled toilets are located on the main level of the terminal building. Although there is extra space and assistance rails in some of the cubicles, in both the male and female toilets on the mezzanine floor, please note that they are not suitable for wheelchairs. There are also disabled toilets to the right of the car lanes and along the quayside after security
  • In the terminal, there is seating marked for disabled/elderly passengers
  • All food outlets on both floors are accessible to wheelchair users
  • The Brittany Ferries information desk is equipped with a low level counter and a closed loop system for the hard of hearing
  • An adapted minibus takes disabled foot passengers directly to and from the lifts or ramps to board the ships
  • Wheelchairs are available in the terminal in case of emergencies

Information point

There are two multi-lingual interactive (touch screen) kiosks in the terminal. They provide information on local landmarks, hotels and include directions. Languages available: English, French and Spanish.

Internet access

Free Wi-Fi available throughout the terminal building.

Left luggage

This can be arranged at the Port Security / Information Desk on the lower level of the terminal building. A charge of £4 per day, or part thereof, is applicable for this service. Luggage must be collected before the terminal closes, no items may be left overnight.

Lost property

Lost property enquiries can be made at the Port Security / Information Desk on the lower level of the terminal building. Alternately online enquiries can be made using our online lost property form.

Pets in the port area

Dogs are allowed in the port area if they are placed on a lead. They are not allowed in the terminal building or out of their vehicle once passed the security check point. A dog waste bin is available adjacent to the check-in kiosks, near to the toilet block.

The nearest park outside of the port is Alexandra park, just off the A3, approximately 1.5 miles north of the port (5minutes drive/20-25 minutes walk).

Post box

A Royal Mail serviced post box is situated just outside the main entrance to the terminal building.


A newsagent style shop is situated on the lower level, main concourse. Opening times are 06:00 - 22:30 daily.


Coin, phonecard and credit card payphones are available on the lower level, main concourse. A mobile phone charging point, providing charge points for many makes/model of phone is available on the mezzanine level. Charges apply.

Truck drivers' facilities

A driver's rest room is situated outside the terminal opposite the Brittany Ferries Freight Office. This offers a vending machine drink/snack service and is open 24hrs a day 7 days a week. Male and female shower rooms are located a short walk from the rest room next to the Portsmouth Handling Services building.

Viewing deck

An outdoor viewing deck accessible from the mezzanine floor offers a place to relax and enjoy views over the port. This is a no smoking area.

Electric Cars

There are numerous charge points located in and around Portsmouth, although there is nothing currently at the port.  Please visit this link for more details of charging points across the UK.

Big Screen Experience

Recent developments at Portsmouth port have seen the installation of a state of the art giant outdoor screen. Measuring 25m2 this new screen will give updates on the boarding process, weather conditions and also keep you up to date with latest news all whilst sitting in the comfort of your vehicle.

Getting to and from Portsmouth International Port

By car

From London, take the M3 or A3. From the Midlands take the A34 to the M3, and from the South West take the A31. From Bristol and South Wales take the A36. These roads lead to the M275, from which an exit road leads directly to the port.

By train

There are train services between Portsmouth and London Waterloo, taking 85 minutes. There are also services between London Victoria and Portsmouth passing through Chichester, Brighton and Gatwick. From Cardiff, the train passes through Salisbury and Bristol. Portsmouth stations include Portsmouth & Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour, both of which are close to the port.

The shuttle bus service which previously operated from both stations to the port is no longer available, taxi's are available at a cost of around £5.

Please allow, approximately, a minimum of 45 minutes to connect between the ferry port and Portsmouth train stations, depending on what form of transport you plan to get to / from the train stations.

By coach

Regular coach services depart from Portsmouth port (from directly outside the terminal) to London Victoria and Heathrow Airport. From London, onward connections can be made to the rest of the UK. Services are operated by National Express. We recommend buying tickets in advance. Please note there is no longer a shuttle bus from the terminal to the city centre. Local bus services are operated by two companies: Stagecoach (buses 8, X4 and X9) and First Bus (bus 20).

By foot

It takes approximately 20 minutes to walk to the ferry terminal from the town centre and 30 minutes from Portsmouth & Southsea train station.

By taxi

A taxi rank is located directly outside the main terminal.

Port parking

The car park is inside the port and is operated by APCOA. Use the left hand lane at the entrance to the car check-in area, and then follow the signs. Disabled parking is available on the ground floor. Luggage trolleys are available for a £1 deposit. 516 spaces. The maximum height for vehicles in the car park is 2.2m high. Payment for the car park is made upon exit.

If you have an early morning sailing caravans / motorhomes can be parked in the check-in lanes after midnight. The vehicle is parked at your own risk and should not be left unattended. Please note that no facilities are open overnight.

Prices for the APCOA car park at the port are shown below, however, customers will find cheaper parking at the Market Way car park, (which is currently £10.00 per 24 hours).
