Description of Hotel Ibis Styles Dinan, Dinan

The Hotel Ibis Styles is very well situated right in the centre of Dinan and is an imposing stylish building that has been renovated into a pleasant hotel. Spacious bedrooms are double glazed and air conditioned for comfort and all have an en suite shower/wc, plus there is a breakfast room and bar lounge. The restaurant is right next door although there are others within walking distance if you wish to have a choice and there is public underground parking opposite. Pleasant staff and good service help make this a good-value-for-money three star hotel that is often recommended by previous guests. The ancient splendour of Dinan is as close to perfection as you're ever likely to see and with streets of medieval housing among its many historical attractions, its past could absorb you almost indefinitely. It has a 13th century château that houses a museum charting the town's long heritage, and it's also the best place to start exploring the defensive walls that are 3k in length and probably the most impressive of any in the region - there is even a festival held each July to honour and celebrate their importance. And, if you have the energy, the 158 step climb to the top of the Tour de l'Horloge is well worth it for wonderful views stretching as far as Mont St Michel on a clear day. Dinan is well known for its art and crafts too and is full of artists, sculptors and glass blowers, many of whom display their products at the Thursday morning market or in the little shops that line the Rue du Petit Fort, the steep cobbled street that leads down to the port and features on many a postcard. Pretty old stone houses line the quay, many of which have been converted into great restaurants or traditional crêperies.

Customer Reviews

Peter Rabjohns

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, and an excellent selection for the buffet breakfast. Lady in charge of buffet worked tirelessly to keep everything replenished. Hotel is ideally positioned to explore on foot the beautiful old walled town, cobbled streets and half timbered buildings , some dating back to the 15th century. most convenient parking is adjacent to the hotel underground, , 3 euro overnight (8pm -9am), but 80 cents per hour during the day, can be a little expensive. Excellent value with a Brittany Ferries deal. Easy drive from Roscoff, and close to Mont- Saint-Michel and lovely beach at St-Lunaire

The Ibis was ideally placed for the old part of Dinan and only a short walk to the port. The bedrooms are bicycle themed with novel brake handles as hooks. The bathroom was modern with a great walk in shower. The choice at breakfast was very good, especially the fresh orange juicer. We would recommend this hotel.

Right in the very centre of Dinan. Could not be a better location to see this lovely town. Although the traffic outside was noisy the room had such good double glazing that once the windows were closed all noise stopped.
