Description of Accommodation

Recently renovated, simple country house divided into 2 holiday homes (see BF3348 Max 3). Friendly owners. Peaceful setting with Chambres d'Hôtes nearby. Shared w/machine (3 euros/load) & shared garden with lawn, furniture & bbq. Living room with woodburner, 3 armchairs & kitchen area (2-ring hob, combination m/wave). Shower. Wc. Open tread stairs to 1st flr with 1 dble (king size) & 1 sgle bedrm. Electric heating. Utility charge: metered.

A lovely walking area with lots of local footpaths & a short drive away is Audierne (10k), a small busy fishing port. Trout & salmon fishing in river Goyen (1k) from mid Mar to mid Sept with permit - daily (around 10 euros) or fortnightly (around 30 euros), which may be purchased from the bar in Mahalon. Owners can buy this in advance for you if required. Les Chemins de Découverte in Mahalon (1.5k) offers various outdoor activities including riding & guided walks & you can watch traditional skills such as breadmaking & cider making.

The accommodation is in an old farm complex. easy to find, modernised, very clean, well equipped and very comfortable, The landlady is very warm, welcoming and helpful. Local amenities are within easy reach, the area is great for walking and cycling, the coast is fabulous and full of history. There is a cider maker within a couple of miles, a visit is recommended. Near Pointe du Millier is an old restored water mill, a visit there is highly recommended. A delightful holiday. Mr & Mrs Frenzel, August 2012

What a beautiful spot and lovely gite. Our hostess was so welcoming and her tarte aux pommes out of this world. Even at this late time of the year we swam in the sea - weather and beaches fabulous. A wonderful holiday - lovely weather, beautiful countryside. We were without our car for 48 hours - Madame took us shopping and her daughter called the local garage and arranged for repairs. We would have been lost without these two ladies!! The gite is very comfortable and well equipped. Domino, the dog, became a firm favourite with us. Hope to return again soon.
