Description of Hotel du Château, Josselin
The attractive medieval town of Josselin has bags of history and some pretty impressive splendours including its 12thC turreted château and fascinating doll museum which is housed in the converted stables. Tempting gift shops, pavement cafés, bars and bistros line the cobbled streets of the old town and on Saturday there is a lively farmers' market that sells everything from cheese to live chickens. Aptly named, this simple but pleasant hotel is in a lovely position across from the château alongside the Nantes-Brest canal and has an excellent restaurant, comfortable rooms and a good buffet breakfast to start the day. Hotel garage approx. 8 euros/night.
