Very comfortable gite, next to another, in a peaceful country setting just 6k from the beach. Owners live nearby. Bright, spacious and pleasantly decorated interior. Comfortable sitting/dining room with tv, French window to rear terrace and fitted kitchen area (f/freezer, m/wave, breakfast table). Wc. 1st floor has a bathroom, 2nd wc and a cosy dble bedrm with king size bed (made up prior to arrival). Cot < 3yrs, high chair, stairgate & pushchair. Electric heating. Shared front courtyard (private parking space). Shared laundry room (2 x w/machine & t/dryer) and games room (billiards, table tennis, table football) adjoining gite. Enclosed garden (open views) with lawn area, furniture & bbq. Slide. Utility charge: metered.

Bar, restaurant & shops in village (1k). Gorgeous sandy beaches at Le Pouldu and Guidel (good for surfing), 6k. Visit Lorient with its vast fishing harbour on Sunday which is market day or take a boat trip from here to the lovely Ile de Groix.

We have had a wonderful two-week beak. The lovely house is perfectly placed to explore both the Morbihan & the Finistère coasts, as well as the interesting towns inland. We were very lucky with the weather so we made good use of all the beautiful local beaches, and restaurants, of course! We greatly appreciated the charming welcome and kind hospitality of M & Mme Helary. Their gift of local cider inspired us to find the Cidrerie & buy some more - also the Pommeau which is delicious. Really enjoyed our stay. Warm & friendly welcome, excellent accommodation with very comfortable beds. We found taking a picnic lunch & eating out in the evening worked well for us. Would recommend the following restaurants: Villa Toscani in Guidel, the creperie La Laïta at Guidel plage, Le Rive Gauche at Doëlan for superb simply grilled fish. Have enjoyed two weeks in this excellent gite, especially the location and deer at bottom of garden. Gite has everything, although as regulars to Brittany we always bring own pillows, nice to have beds made up on arrival. Tom & Julie Butler, July/August 2010

The food has been fantastic wherever we have been. We have always opted for a three course menu for lunch, and we have never been disappointed. Our only fear now is that we may have spoiled our son rotten. He loves duck and scallops, but he won't be seeing much of that at home. A big hug to the Helarys for making our stay pleasant. Our third visit to this lovely gite and area and only the weather was slightly disappointing. The Helarys are as welcoming as ever with cidre & gateau Breton on arrival, and aperitif one evening, which always tests our limited French to its limits! New discoveries for us were the beaches of Le Pouldu and the pretty little port of Doëlan. Favourite restaurant is still La Potinière at Larmor-Plage, recommended by Mme Helary.
