Description of Auberge de St Thégonnec, St Thégonnec
St Thégonnec is home to northern Brittany's finest example of a parish close (enclosed churchyard) and is visited by many from all over the world who hold a fascination for these remarkable constructions. A fire in the mid 90s destroyed a huge part of the church but with painstaking reconstruction work it has been restored back to its original grand status. Just across the road from the close is the village's other main attraction - the Auberge de St Thégonnec, a traditional comfortable hotel which has an excellent, recommended restaurant and a friendly air and welcome.
