Description of Accommodation

Close to the popular Lac de Guerlédan, a pretty, rustic detached cottage (no smoking inside) built around 1790. Fitted kitchen (m/wave, f/freezer, w/machine). Sitting/dining room with exposed beams, dble sofa bed, tv/video (UK and Freeview channels) and stairs to dble bed on mezzanine. Travel cot, baby bath, stairgate, booster seat. Ground floor bath/shower and wc. Heaters. Small garden with apple tree, furniture, parasol, portable bbq. Utility charge: included.

The lake is huge and has beaches, crêperie, restaurants, fishing, swimming, pedalos, water skiing & boat trips. Nearby are the Abbaye de Bon Repos, the hamlet of Les Forges des Salles & a château in the Quinécan forest. This is also a popular walking/cycling area (free use of 2 bikes on site) with the GR341 marked footpath & cycle route in front of the cottage which takes in a 40k circuit of the Lac de Guerlédan. Walkers will also like the newly developed 'tourist' trail in and around Keriven historic village - details from the office de tourisme in Mur de Bretagne.

We have thoroughly enjoyed this cosy cottage near the lake and all the autumn colours in the surrounding forest. We have enjoyed several good traditional French lunches on our travels. We will be back to try the area all over again in the warmer weather. Kim & Pete, October/November 2012

We had a wonderful week in this delightful cottage - the setting was lovely and we visited some interesting places nearby. We enjoyed riding the bikes provided at the cottage to cycle to Mûr de Bretagne along the disused railway line. The views of the lake from the cycle path were stunning. Lovely friendly welcome from Lorna & Derek. The cottage is idyllic and very comfortable. Local area is wonderful and very picturesque, we really enjoyed the walk through the woods to the 'lavoir' on the way to the lake, where a boat trip is a must.
