Description of Hotel des Druides, Quiberon
Quiberon was once France's premier sardine fishing port and whilst it still has many working boats today, it is also now the main departure point for the ferries taking cars and passengers to the lovely island of Belle Ile en Mer, a popular holiday destination with literary connections. This resort has a wide, sandy beach backed by a boardwalk lined with cafés, restaurants and boutiques which is very popular in summer, and here is the ideal place to try a couple of Quiberon specialities - a freshly made gaufre, a sweet tasting waffle and a Niniche, a hard candy sweet on a stick. Delicious! Right in the centre, close to the beach and port, this family-run hotel has simple but pleasant rooms, all with shower, and free Wi-Fi. Free public parking 150m.

The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the seafront (loads of restaurants) & the ferries to Belle-Ile etc. A good beach at Quiberon itself & plenty more on the peninsula. Definitely worth going back to. Mr & Mrs Thorley, April 2013
