We have had a lovely week in Finistere. The gite is in a great location for visiting the south & east coasts and central Brittany. Our highlights were - the Ville close at Concarneau; the point du Raz and the pointe du Dinan & Pont Aven and the towpath at Chateauneuf du Faou - fabulous for cycling. A delightful week in a really lovely gite. Really comfortable and everything we needed - comfy bed and British tv to watch the Olympics - excellent. Janine really lovely and welcoming, like all the other people we have met this week. Weather has been superb, so headed for the coast. Concarneau/Ville close is a must, really enjoyed and market everyday. Beach at Cap Coz is superb and perfect for families - snorkelling is a must! The children are very sad to be going home tomorrow. We have had a wonderful week here in Finistere. The weather has been fantastic every day. We have visited lots of beautiful places including; Concarneau and the beach at Trévignon. Had a lovely peaceful week here, stunning weather! Places we enjoyed visiting were Pont Aven (had a lot of activity on a Sunday), Concarneau (visited on market day, Friday) lovely for shopping & exploring walled city, Quimper (beautiful cathedral & nice meal at Bar Le Steir overlooking canal), Hennebont & Auray (worth a visit), Quimperlé (very picturesque & lovely shops). Another delightful fortnight here - so glad we returned! Except for one day we ate outdoors all the time. We had some great games of cricket with our boys on the lawn late into the evening. A very well equipped gite with a lovely large garden which was much enjoyed for tennis, football & cricket by our children. Enjoyed Pont Aven (picturesque), Huelgoat & its boulders on the forest walks, Douarnenez & the Boat Museum (creperie next door was very good!), Concarneau & La Ville Close (nice along the ramparts), Chateauneuf du Faou (very authentic Breton small town), Chateaulin and Briec (Creperie Les Fleurs d'Ajonc is excellent & reasonably priced).
