Arriving at your property
Your accommodation will generally be ready for you to arrive between 4pm and 6pm and you are requested to leave by 10am. Please bear this in mind when booking your ferry crossings.
Description of Accommodation
Spacious gite located in east wing of château, on outskirts of charming village. Owner lives in south wing of château. Comfortable lounge with fireplace, dvd, tv (English channels) and door to large, raised open terrace. Dining room with woodburner and small kitchen area (d/washer, f/freezer, m/wave). Utility room (w/machine, t/dryer, wc). Spiral, wooden stairs to three 1st floor bedrms each with en suite bathroom/wc and ornamental fireplace - 2 dbles and a family room with 4 sgle beds. 2nd floor has a living room with kitchenette and 2 further bedrms - a dble and a family (4 sgle beds). Shower/wc. Beds made up prior to arrival. Oil fired c/heating (up to 80 euros/day). Telescope on 2nd floor for star gazing and watching the wildlife come and go (roe deer in nearby park). Six steps down from terrace to large pleasant grounds overlooking the river Indrois (110m). Garden furniture and bbq.Cleaning charge is compulsory. Utility charge: metered. .
The stunning Château de Chenonceau which has survived the centuries without suffering from the attacks of time stands today as one of the finest examples of the French Renaissance. Visit the wax museum and take a walk into the past, or stroll around the beautiful château gardens.
