Customer Reviews
We have returned to the Pyrénées having visited the area 12 years ago and we find that it is even better than we remembered. The changing seasons and time of day give one a different view at every turn. We visited Gavarnie which had become more touristy than at our last visit; it is impressive but we preferred the Cirque de Troumouse - what a spectacular drive & not one for the faint-hearted. The Pont d'Espagne we really enjoyed so we went twice, once on a cloudy day and once in sunshine. Both days had their merits - much easier to photograph the cascades on an overcast day & fewer people. Kathleen & David Bird, Hampshire, August/September 2010
We went up to the Col du Tourmalet & the Col du Soulat and will watch the Tour de France this year with extra interest as it comes through this area at the end of the month. The flowers on the mountains have been wonderful, there were also lots of butterflies & plenty of birds. We even saw & managed to photograph marmots. Just sitting outside the gîte and enjoying the spectacular view is a delight! Mr & Mrs P J Ogden, June 2010
We visited most of the 'honey pots' including Cirque de Gavarnie, Cirque de Troumouse and Pic du Midi, all spectacular in their own way. However our best times were when we had left the beaten track and found places we could enjoy without the crowds and where we could picnic in beautiful places all on our own. The gîte is well appointed and clean and we thank Mme Louyat for her thoughtfulness in providing everything to make our stay an enjoyable one. Mr R A Foster, June 2010
Gavarnie is spectacular, especially the Cirque de Gavarnie, the walk, cascades and views should not be missed. Pont d'Espagne is also very beautiful. The ski lift to the top, fun and the walk to the lake breathtaking. Marmots and more marmots - beautiful, giant guinea pigs are enjoyable to watch and there are many. We also saw the izzard (chamois) apparently not seen by many people. The gîte has everything one needs, very clean and comfortable, with superb views. A warm welcome from Madame and a gift of strawberries from her garden. Merci. John & Janet Woodward, Gloucestershire, June 2010
