Description of Hotel des Remparts, Mirepoix
The medieval bastide town of Mirepoix with its pretty square of overhanging houses oozes charm and is quite rightly considered one of France's most attractive towns. Popular with the English who come here to both visit and live it has become very Anglicised - you can even buy many of our food stuffs including cheddar cheese and cornflakes in the little English shop run by a French lady! The delightful Hotel des Remparts is in the centre of town and has just 7 rooms. Perhaps more importantly however it boasts not one but 2 Michelin starred restaurants. Be prepared to eat well! Free public parking 200m.
