Description of Grand Hotel du Luxembourg, Bayeux
In the heart of charming Bayeux, this grand old 17thC building is only a stone's throw from the impressive cathedral and although it doesn't look much from the outside, once inside you will be pleasantly surprised. Renovated with all the charm of pure French tradition, it has delightful bedrooms, a welcoming bar where you can relax before dining in the gastronomic restaurant and a pretty, sheltered courtyard garden. It also has secure off-street parking which it shares with its sister hotel, the Brunville, next door. Hotel parking approx. 9 euros/night or free street parking 500m.

Grand Hotel Luxembourg is in an ideal central location (remarkably free of traffic noise). The room was spacious and clean, bed comfortable. The restaurant is excellent (but not cheap). There is also private parking, which is worth having in Bayeux! Overall, a pleasant stay. We would recommend it. Derek & Margaret Duncanson, September 2012
