Detached cottage next door to friendly owners' home, 3k from the charming village of Pont d'Ouilly in the Suisse Normande area. Open plan living room with dining table/chairs, sofas, tv (English channels), dvd & kitchen area (m/wave). Dble bedrm (king size bed with duvet). Narrow open tread stairs to 1st floor with spacious attic bedrm (twin beds, high wooden threshold in doorway) & shower room/wc. Towel hire 5 euros per person. Electric heaters (included). Shared use of owners' w/machine. Large pleasant shared garden with lawn, orchard, garden furniture, bbq, swing & badminton. Unsuitable for infants under 18mths. No smoking. Utility charge: included.

The river Orne flows through nearby Pont d'Ouilly (canoeing, swimming, fishing, pedalos & walks). There's also a Sunday morning market in the old market hall.

We had a great time here in Normandy and I have visited a lot of pretty places.The sports centre down in Pont d'Ouilly really came in handy for me and my dad where we hired a tennis court and a canoe. Jennifer, August 2008

We've had an excellent week here! We extensively toured the D-Day beaches and my family endured several museums and monuments, but as I kept telling them, we need to see these things! Have found the gite to be in a great spot for touring around Normandy. Lucky enough to be here for Bastille Day and spent the evening in Falaise - had a meal, sat in the square where there was live music and finished off with a firework display at the chateau. Mark & Caroline Roberts, July 2009

The gite is very comfortable and well equipped and the garden is a delight. We recommend visiting Falaise, Bayeux and the Normandy beaches are also possible (around 1-1½hrs).
