Customer Reviews

We have had a great week here & perfect weather for which we were extra grateful having a 3 & 5 yr old! With youngsters in mind, highlights have included Sunday morning market in Cambremer (locals in costumes, food, local crafts); Houlgate's beach; the Base de Loisirs at Brionne (swimming lakes, sandy beach, pedalos, playground); the Floride restaurant in Cormeilles (good food & value for adults & kids); nearest baker & bar in Lieurey; Chateau de Vendeuvre for gorgeous, eccentric, relaxing gardens & chateau; Honfleur for a picturesque stroll; trampoline & seesaw, swing, slide & hide & seek in the garden! Sarah & Hugh, Tom & Kate, August 2011
A great stay, with days spent at the gite & very friendly Lieurey & days out at Deauville, Trouville, Honfleur & Rouen. We recommend the Floride restaurant at Cormeilles (main street) great & varied French menu, brilliant value & very friendly for small kids; tour of the Busnel Calvados Distillery at Cormeilles (in English & only 2 euros, free tasting & opportunity to purchase but no pressure); the Boulangerie up the road is fantastic & mini Carrefour at end of village very convenient. Roger & Christine, Stuart, Sam & Ruby (2), Barney & Leonie, Pat & Dave, July/August 2011
A fantastic gite in a good location to access lots of wonderful places. The children had great fun enjoying the indoor space for numerous games of hide and seek, and equally loved the garden and its trampoline (as did the adults)! Kids loved Val de Cimes near Honfleur & we all enjoyed Honfleur (restaurants, café etc). Water gardens at Chateau de Vendeuvre were great fun! Take a spare T shirt if you have kids that enjoy getting wet when they explore! A fab holiday! Sarah, Laurence, Hannah (aged 5), Thomas (4) & Elizabeth (2), April 2011
Very comfortable, spacious & well appointed gite. Madame Peuffier and her family extremely welcoming and helpful. Fantastic trampoline much appreciated by the 16 month old in our party (under supervision!). Carrefour in Cormeilles has a good selection of both fresh and frozen foods, with the local Calvados distillery just opposite & a petrol station up the same road. Madame kindly arranged for us to borrow some bicycles so we could explore the attractive countryside around the gite. The Koder/Davies Families, August 2010
The gite - Wonderful! Perfect layout for our extended family (5 adults, 4 boys). Absolutely spotless on arrival. Madame made us very welcome and her rhubarb tart was much appreciated. The garden was well used by the boys. The boys liked the zoo at Cerza, reasonable entry fees. The adults enjoyed the tour of the Père Magloire Calvados distillery at Pont l’Evêque. Only 3 euros entry and we tasted a lot! Plus the tour was in English. By the end of our stay we were known in the boulangerie (nearest one) and didn’t have to ask for our 2 pain and 6 croissants each morning! A wonderful holiday. Davies/Miles/Sharman Families, June 2010
Excellent stay with daily visits from 'Cutlet' the bullock. Head to Honfleur and especially Le Bec Hellouin if you like history - probably the prettiest village in France. Nearest boulangerie is the best just up the street. Plenty of beds when drunken snorers disturb the house. Russ Anne, Alan Judy, Dave & Vera, May 2010
