Description of Accommodation

Oléron is the largest of France's west coast islands - 30k long by 6k wide, it has many glorious beaches and a climate a degree or so warmer than the nearest mainland. It is perfect for exploring on foot, bike, by little tourist 'train' or horseback, or skimming its seas on a windsurfer or surfboard. The island is reached by a toll-free bridge that offers stunning views of both mainland and island.

Résidence de la Cascade is a complex of 60 cottages including some more recently built and the others renovated, in large grounds shaded by pine trees. There are 3 interconnecting unheated outdoor pools (16m x 8m & up to 1.6m deep, Apr-Sept) & paddling pool. Jacuzzi, sauna and gym on site. Situated in Dolus, around 2k from the west coast beach of La Rémigeasse and a short drive from the oyster beds that are a feature of the east of the island. The village has daily markets in high summer in the flower-filled pedestrian area. Tv hire 42 euros per week. Breakfast available for 10 euros per person. Bbqs (electric only) are permitted but not provided. Free Wi-Fi at reception.

Max: 2/4 - Single storey or 2 storey cottage. Living area with sofa bed and pull-out bed. Kitchenette (dishwasher, microwave + small hob). Double bedroom. Shower. Wc. Small open grounds and terrace with garden furniture. (In 2 storey cottages the double bedroom, shower and wc are all on 1st floor.)

Max: 4/6 - As above except all are single storey and there is an additional twin bedroom.

Extra Services

End of stay cleaning - 58 euros.

Towel hire - 8 euros per person.

Baby facilities - Cot hire 28 euros per week.

Bed linen hire - 8 euros per single, 16 euros per double bed.
