Description of Accommodation
Just along the coast from the larger resort of Royan, St Palais is an attractive, lively seaside town with a lovely beach. There is plenty to discover in this area such as the very popular zoo at La Palmyre, the beautiful island of Oléron, Saintes with its Roman amphitheatre or take a guided tour round one of the famous brandy houses at Cognac.
Ideal for families and a short stroll from the beach and shops, Les Carrelets is a friendly, recently built residence with 71 tastefully furnished apartments within a group of 2 and 3 storey buildings. On site facilities include a heated outdoor pool (5m x 9m x 7m and 0.7-1.3m deep), paddling pool, whirlpool, sun terrace and loungers - open mid June to mid Sept but closed Sun. Small play area for children, boules pitch and bicycle storage. Wi-Fi at reception, around 7 euros per day or 21 euros per week. Free car park.
Max: 4 - Apartment on ground or first floor. Living room with tv and double sofa bed. Kitchen area with dishwasher, microwave/grill + 2-ring hob. Double bedroom. Bath/shower room. Wc. Most have terrace or balcony with garden furniture. A few apartments of this type are wheelchair accessible - request when booking.
Max: 6 - Apartment on 1st and 2nd floors reached by outside stairs. Living room with tv and double sofa bed. Kitchen area with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave/grill + 4-ring hob. Double bedroom. Wc. Upstairs has bath/shower room/wc and twin bedroom (window overlooks living area). Most have balcony with garden furniture.
