Spacious lounge/dining room (UK satellite tv, cd, dvd) with French windows, high ceilings & exposed stone & beams. Modern kitchen area (f/freezer, w/machine, d/washer, m/wave). 3 bedrms - 1 dble, 2 sgles. Shower/wc. Electric radiators (charge payable if used). Plenty of privacy with own patio/garden (furniture, bbq, loungers). Utility charge: included. Private Pool: 10.3m x 4.75m and 1.1m to 1.7m deep with 'Celtic steps'. Fenced and unheated. Open mid May to early Oct.

Lovely village with good restaurant 1.5k. A great base for Saintes, Royan, Cognac & wine routes & within an hour of Bordeaux.

This our second visit here has been just as enjoyable as our first. The gite is by far the best we have been to by a long way. Once more the solitude here has been just what we required. The weather has been just right, not too hot or cold. The ease with which it is possible to get to many places of interest makes it an ideal centre to work from. We have really enjoyed the surroundings more this year by spending more time at the gite. The welcome we have received from Anne & Stephen has been fantastic and we plan to return in 2014. One of our best holidays ever!! Superb accommodation, well located with great hosts. We tried a number of the visits recommended - beach at St George, city of oysters in Marennes, Talmont etc. and enjoyed them all but nothing better than a sunny day, surrounded by vines and sunflowers, listening to the kids splashing in the pool while sampling the local vino!! I loved staying in this gite especially going to the beach at St Palais with our friends. Quite annoying that there was so much to do, we could easily stay another week. The weather was amazing! We said we'd be back and have just enjoyed another glorious week here. This lovely gite is so well appointed and maintained by it's welcoming hosts. It's a relaxing and beautiful place to spend a week or two. Had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Gite was extremely comfortable and exceeded all our expectations. Had fabulous days at the beach at La Palmyre and just north of the 'Grande Cote', Cognac, Ile d'Oléron, La Rochelle, Saintes & Pons. If you like the peace and quiet, a lovely clean property and the most well maintained pool in France then this is the place for you. There are so many wonderful places to visit, you will be spoilt for choice; Pons, Saintes, Talmont, sur Gironde, Cognac, Jarnac, any of the beaches by Meschers - and the list goes on. The cycling is great along almost deserted roads, there are plenty of off road routes aswell, particularly along the coast by La Palmyre & the foret de la Coubre. We have been coming to France for over eight years and this is by far our favourite gite & location. Steve & Anne are very charming & welcoming hosts.
