Description of Accommodation

Lovely old farmhouse converted into 2 spacious semi-detached holiday homes (this one on right, next door used by owner) across courtyard from a 3rd holiday property (QW4007, Max 4/5+). Quiet rural area surrounded by fields. Interior is attractively furnished in light, modern style. Spacious kitchen/dining room (m/wave, d/washer, w/machine) with French windows to terrace. Large comfortable lounge (3 sofas including a sofa bed, woodburner, satellite tv, dvd, video, hi-fi). Shower room/wc. Steep stairs to 1st floor with bath/shower room/wc & 2 bedrms - 1 king size dble (satellite tv, dvd, video) & 1 family room (2 dbles & 1 sgle bed, tv and video). Towel hire 5 euros per person. Cot, high chair, stairgate. Heating (included). Own garden with furniture & bbq. Shared items include sloping rear garden, boules pitch, barn/games room (pool table, children's pool table, dart board, table tennis, table football), 6 adults' & 4 children's bikes. Compulsory cleaning charge. Dogs but not cats accepted. No smoking. Utility charge: included. The Pool: 8m x 4m and up to 1.5m deep, heated and fenced. Open May-Sept, weather permitting. Shared with the other holiday homes.

Helpful hosts can arrange horse riding & fishing or trips into Paris. It's only a 15 minute drive to Le Mans (its 24hr motor race takes place in June) where you can take a TGV train to Paris in an hour.

We are now stress-free! With our 3 children (7, 12 & 13) we found that there was never a dull moment. Rosemary & Helen welcomed us & encouraged the children to explore all the facilities. The dog was even welcomed & encouraged to roam free. The gite was well equipped & comfortable with a luxury of space and we were in & out of the pool like yoyos during the heat of the 1st week. What a fab week we've had. Our 1st trip abroad with the children but we could not have chosen a better place to go. Rosemary made us feel very welcome & has been a great source on recommending where to go! The gite is lovely & spacious & well equipped and the beds so comfy - lovely! The children have thoroughly enjoyed the on site facilities, games room & we have all enjoyed the pool. Weather has been perfect & we would definitely recommend this gite! Our only complaint would be that we should have booked two weeks instead of one. Many thanks to Rosemary for providing a great set up for all the family! Despite the weather being cold & wet we have had a fantastic stay mainly due to the great array of entertainment available; namely the table tennis, darts, pool table, vast selection of videos & books & English TV channels. This also includes the pool & the huge selection of bikes including tag alongs. The gite is very well equipped with all necessities and more, the beds & sofas are comfortable & the large kitchen is great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would recommend the 24 hr museum & aquaparc at Le Mans. Although is there any need to go anywhere? Thanks Rosemary for being a helpful but unobtrusive host! A fantastic fortnight enjoyed by all & the gite is extremely comfortable & so well equipped. We have had such a relaxing holiday making use of the pool & barn & the kids have loved the company of Pickle. Thoroughly recommend La Plage at Sillé, Le Mans and if you want to venture further afield the Château at Cheverny for Tintin enthusisasts & Chenonceau - both gorgeous. We've had a lovely week & would thoroughly recommend it. Thank you to Rosemary for all her helpful advice & suggestions on what to do! We went to the markets in Champfleur, Alençon & Beaumont & to Eurodisney for a day (well worth it) & Le Musée des 24 heures du Mans - all fantastic! We have had a fabulous week, lots of sunshine and visits to the pool. Thank you Rosemary and Pickle for sharing your home with us. We enjoyed our visit to Paris from Le Mans on the TGV. The children particularly loved using the bikes and playing table tennis and pool. We enjoyed relaxing with a good book and a bottle of the local vin and lots of pain et fromage'. We have stayed at La Grande Villette for the past 2 weeks. It has been a fabulous holiday. We have visited the lake, which is a must for young families and the Aqua Park in Le Mans, ideal for days when the weather is not great. The hospitality offered by Rosemary and her family has been warm and welcoming. In times of crisis Rosemary was amazing and more than willing to help with translation. If you love food a visit to Auberge de La Croix Margot is a must and good value for a 5 course meal. We will definitely visit again. The Day & Dodd family, August 2011

We have had a really great week here. The setting has been fantastic; both the views and Le Grenier. Kids have had a fun time in the barn and pool, and really enjoyed the bike rides. The trip to the lake yesterday really capped-off the weeks. They have been to the beach, on ponies and on pedalos before but not all in the same afternoon. Rosemary has been brilliant hostess and even provided emergency medical transport and translation skills when a wasp-sting caused an allergic response! Many thanks for a wonderful week! We have had 2 fantastic weeks in La Grande Villette. Le Grenier has been like a home from home. Everything we could possibly need has been here. The activities for all the family have been marvellous and the letting for the gite is really beautiful and peaceful. The kids have had so much fun playing in a super environment. Travelling with kids with special needs is usually quite difficult and hard work but the opposite is true here. A Special big thank you to Rosemary! You have been absolutely brilliant.
