Description of Parador, Cangas de Onís
This top of the range Parador, beautifully converted from a 12thC monastery and then extended, has has retained the cloisters, courtyards and peacefulatmosphere of a bygone age. The salmon-filled river Sella rushes past the picture windows of the dining room, and there are gorgeous mountain views. This region is packed with history - there is a spectacular medieval bridge nearby - and the countryside and wildlife of the Picos de Europa are all around.

What's included in the price?
Prices in black are per person based on two sharing. They include B&B and return ferry crossings on selected sailings to Spain, for a standard car, 2 people and a 4 berth inside cabin with en suite facilities each way.

Ferry prices for holiday clients are greatly reduced therefore if you travel abroad for 7 nights or longer a minimum of 3 nights holiday accommodation for all members of the party must be booked.

Many of the rooms at this Parador are in a modern annexe. The rooms with even numbers have small balconies overlooking the river. We particularly liked the blackout membreane on the curtains which kept the room dark for sleep ins. Mr & Mrs West, May 2013
A monastery with its own 4 star Romanesque church - sheer heaven for anyone interested in the middle ages. Staff friendly and helpful, room great. A few things on the menu very good, but you run out of those after a few days. Good-ish wine list. Mr & Mrs McCann, April 2013
