Description of Parador, Limpias
One of the later additions to the Paradores chain, this former 19thC royal palace is within easy reach of Santander, just south of Laredo. It has both indoor and outdoor pools and the magnificent gardens which include a tennis court and a wonderful variety of trees, some over a hundred years old, have been designated a World Heritage site. The main building has been extended to accommodate most of the bedrooms whilst the café-bar and restaurant, which specialises in local cuisine including a traditional sailor's dish of tuna, salmon and lobster, is housed in the original part. Garage parking approx. 7 euros/night.

What's included in the price?
Prices in black are per person based on two sharing. They include B&B and return ferry crossings on selected sailings to Spain, for a standard car, 2 people and a 4 berth inside cabin with en suite facilities each way.

Ferry prices for holiday clients are greatly reduced therefore if you travel abroad for 7 nights or longer a minimum of 3 nights holiday accommodation for all members of the party must be booked.

The Parador is in a superb location - a short, easy drive from Santander/Bilbao. It's a mix of old and new - beautifully furnished and spacious. The bedroom was light and airy with a lovely bathroom and super toiletries. There is an indoor pool and gym which is great in the Autumn/Winter while in the summer there's an outdoor pool and tennis court as well as the lovely grounds. The restaurant has an excellent choice on the fixed price menu - £35 Euros for 3 courses though there is an excellent snack menu if you don't want a formal meal. Wines were reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet is superb - beautifully laid out with a huge choice; something for everyone. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. There are so many things to see and do from this Parador - the sea, the mountains, the countryside or the big cities of Santander and Bilbao. You can easily visit the Guggenheim Museum and Gernika as well as exploring the Basque coast. I think you can tell we had a lovely stay here - too short.
