Description of Accommodation
In the heart of the Picos de Europa, Cosgaya is in a beautiful area amongst some fantastic scenery - ideal for walking and enjoying the outdoors. The charming town of Potes, a short drive away, is the local capital and is where you'll find a choice of shops and restaurants as well as being the departure point for organised walking or 4x4 trips into the mountains, and don't forget a trip to Fuente Dé where you can take a cable car high up into the mountains for some spectacular views.
The Apartamentos La Barcena are above a small river, just off the Potes to Fuente Dé road and are in 2 buildings, 30m apart. Each of the 17 superb apartments has been individually decorated and colour co-ordinated in an attractive style with lots of attention to detail, and all have central heating. Some also have a fireplace or woodburner, most have a jacuzzi bath in the main bedroom and a few have a washing machine too. They share an indoor heated pool (11m x 5m, 1.4m deep, open all year) with glass sliding doors that can be opened in warmer weather, a summer terrace, children's play area, bbq area and parking. There is also a sauna (extra cost), free Wi-Fi and a shared laundry room (washing machine & tumble dryer) plus breakfast (5 euros) and light snacks are also available.
Max: 2/4 - Ground floor apartments have living room with tv/dvd & double sofa bed. Kitchen area with f/freezer, 2-ring hob & microwave/grill (no oven). Double (2 linked single beds) or twin bedroom. Shower room/wc. Terrace with garden furniture.
Max: 4/6 - First floor duplex apartments have living room with tv/dvd & double sofa bed. Kitchen area with f/freezer, 2-ring hob & microwave/grill (no oven). 1 double bedroom (2 linked single beds or 1 double bed) and 1 twin - one or the other is on upper level via open tread stairs. Shower room/wc. Most have a balcony with garden furniture.

My family and I had a fantastic holiday at these apartments. The apartments themselves are really well maintained and clean and the swimming pool is fantastic. Ideally situated for exploring the surrounding area. A couple of warnings, the staff do not speak any English so make sure you take your phrase book and the food is very overpriced, so stock up at the local supermarket.
