Description of Accommodation

Location is everything as far as this attractive chalet is concerned. Set back from the road between Potes & the cable car at Fuente Dé, the surroundings are absolutely idyllic and the terrific views are incomparable - this truly is the place to relax & unwind. The friendly owner speaks English and there are many good walking & cycling paths in the vicinity. Look out for the wild deer who visit the garden at times.

Simple kitchen (f/freezer, m/wave & mini oven/grill - no full size oven). Living room has fireplace & tv. Shower/tub/wc with w/machine. 4 bedrms in the eaves: 1 twin & 3 dbles - 1 with en suite bath/shower/wc behind latticed partitioning (so not entirely private). C/heating. Lovely garden - uneven in places - vine covered patio & furniture.

There is a £26 supplement per night for stays between 28 and 31 March.

This house is in a beautiful mountain setting with a wonderful large garden. It is a fantastic place to relax and watch the wildlife - red squirrels, deer and even vultures can be observed from the sun lounger. A wonderful memorable week - we must come back as a week is just not enough. One of our 'must do's' - the Cares Gorge from Poncebos to Cain and back. There aren't adequate superlatives to describe the drama, geology and excitement of this walk. It is a lifetime experience - but make sure you start early. Owner speaks excellent English and was very welcoming and hospitable. Surrounded by a large secure garden cut into the hillside the house was spacious with lots of varnished wood and comfortably furnished. We enjoyed paddling and swimming in the stream/river that runs down the whole valley (there is a fabulous hot spring area in one place, accessible from the roadside). The trip up the cable car at the end of the valley is a must and the area is packed with wildlife. We had good days out doing the walk from the top of the cable car back down to the bottom, the drive over Puerta San Gloria to Valdeón, El Soploa Cave, walking tour around Potes and lots of short local walks.
