Description of Accommodation
San Vicente de la Barquera, an attractive fishing port and one of the loveliest and most popular resorts on the Cantabrian coast is just a short drive from the campsite. It has a well preserved old town with narrow winding streets and an elegant Gothic church, and its gorgeous sandy beach attracts visitors from far and wide in the summer. Another extremely charming little resort is Comillas (6k) which has a harbour, pretty cobbled streets and squares, a lovely beach and a good choice of places to eat including the very famous El Caprichio restaurant designed by Gaudi.
The Camping Playa Oyambre is a well managed site with 200 pitches and 37 chalets in lovely countryside that has good views of the fabulous Picos mountains, ideal for walking and cycling. It is only 1k on foot from the beautiful Oyambre beach so is popular with both Spanish and foreign visitors. There is a good sized outdoor pool with a shallow section for children, a play area, a large bar/cafeteria with well stocked mini-mart, free Wi-Fi and a restaurant. The management are very friendly and speak English too!
Max: 2/4 - Spacious living area with kitchen corner (2 ring hob & m/wave - no oven) which leads out to a terrace with patio furniture. Twin bedroom and room with bunk beds. Shower/wc.

The campsite is well located, has friendly owners and has great facilities. The swimming pool was a big hit with the kids and the takeaway paella was a big hit with the adults. The chalets themselves were basic but had everything we needed and were very clean. The main downside was that the bunk bed was way too high for our young children, so they ended up sharing the generous twin room whilst we ended up in the much smaller bunk room.
