Description of Accommodation

The picture postcard village of Santillana is an architectural gem that attracts many visitors & has some seriously impressive houses & old palaces that once belonged to wealthy Spanish families. Particularly appealing during the spring & autumn, shops, restaurants & bars are all to hand & attractive souvenir pottery is on sale everywhere. Just 200m from its centre is this unusual but delightful little casa which backs onto the owner's home. Accessed via a long narrow passageway which opens out into a lovely enclosed courtyard, it is excellently located and the friendly owners are constantly adding and improving things to create a well equipped and comfortable holiday retreat.

Single storey accommodation features open plan kitchen/diner with f/freezer, m/wave & w/machine. Living room with tv/dvd & sgle bed with pull out sgle bed beneath. Dble bedrm with tv. Shower room/wc. C/heating. Enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and large covered bbq area with seating.

There is a £12 supplement per night for stays between 28 and 31 March.

Picos de Europa stunning. Take road from Potes towards Cabezón, onto Pico Milano, keep going (about 7/8k) until you reach Puert de Piedrasuangus where you will have the most amazing views. Pick a clear day. Victor & Jude Page, Hampshire, July 2012

We have always wanted to visit Santillana and to stay here for more than a week was wonderful. The village is 'precioso' with plenty of good value restaurants. The area is full of little gems, from Comillas on the coast to Bárcena inland. Particularly recommend a little detour to Barcenaciones for a delightful half hour stroll in a lovely old village. We highly recommend the Casa Juani, its kind owners and the location as a place to stay in this beautiful part of Spain. The casa has all that is needed for self catering. It is comfortable, quiet and private. There is easy, good road access to towns, villages, beaches and the wonderful mountains and river valleys in the area.
