Description of Parador, Hondarribia
Founded in the 10thC by King Sancho the Strong, this magnificent castle dominates the attractive fishing port of Hondarribia. Stone walls and few windows emphasise its defensive nature, but inside rooms are light and airy, and the inner courtyard is the ideal place to unwind. The surrounding Basque country waits to be explored, and there are some excellent beaches nearby. Hotel parking approx. 15 euros/night.

What's included in the price?
Prices in black are per person based on two sharing. They include B&B and return ferry crossings on selected sailings to Spain, for a standard car, 2 people and a 4 berth inside cabin with en suite facilities each way.

Ferry prices for holiday clients are greatly reduced therefore if you travel abroad for 7 nights or longer a minimum of 3 nights holiday accommodation for all members of the party must be booked.

Customer Review
This Parador, close to the border with France so an ideal, historic and scenic place to stay, is luxurious and in a converted ancient church-building. No restaurant, which is fine in a town awash with good bars and eateries, so do ensure you walk down the hill to explore these. The one thing which could be improved is the welcome. There was no offer of help with bags up a steep long flight of steps from the car park to reception, despite the fact that we had to speak to a frosty receptionist on a tinny entryphone to access it so they knew we were arriving. And although the lack of restaurant was pointed out, no one mentioned that there was a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea where we could have enjoyed drinks in the sun. Mr McIntosh, May 2013
