Brittany Ferries supporting Charities

Brittany Ferries supports a wide range of UK charities both national and local, but our focus is on charities local to our ports, examples of which are: Wessex Heartbeat, Rowan's Hospice in Portsmouth and St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth.

We favour charities related to the armed forces, such as Help for Heroes and Army of Angels, to whom we give 4 holidays a year to help them provide injured servicemen and their immediate families some respite.

Support by way of free crossings is also given to WW2 Veterans, many of whom like to revisit the D-Day beaches every June (although their numbers are, sadly, dwindling) to pay their respects to colleagues who did not survive. We assist the RNLI by having collection boxes on board all our cruise-ferries and, in addition, help many small charities local to our ports, as well as schools and other organisations of value to the community.

Most support is given in the form of free or reduced rate travel used in raffles to raise funds and in the past 12 months we have given travel to the value of £67,482.

Policy

Our aim is to be a responsible member of the community. We do not support individuals, religious, ethnic or political groups or third-party fundraising.

Applying for support

If you have a cause you think we could help you support, please get in touch by writing on charity headed paper to:

The Community Relations Team
The Brittany Centre
Wharf Road

Or email: communityrelations@brittanyferries.com

Please give at least 8 weeks' written notice and do not call either Reservations or the Press Office. Because of the large number of requests we receive, it is not possible to answer each one individually, so if you do not receive a reply within 4 weeks you can assume your application has not been successful.
