June 2006 Leisure

Spent a really peaceful week here, enjoying the fishing, mostly mirror carp at 10½ lbs with 2 grass carp and numerous small roach.

This year have been lucky enough to have seen a terrific variety of birds including fairy terns and a barnacle goose at the pond as well as the more usual herons and woodpeckers.

A good restful stay. Enjoyed the peace of the countryside and the nice walks nearby. The fishing was very good. We have seen plenty of wildlife nearby, ranging from fallow deer by the pond to herons & buzzards. We would recommend the windmill restaurant/bar au Mont Dol for mussels and chips
