Some truly wonderful beaches can be found beyond Lamballe, at Le Val André. Call in at the nearby Vaumadeuc farm to meet the dairy cattle, and taste and buy delicious cheese. To purchase more local produce, try Lamballe's busy Thursday market.

June 2007 Sightseeing

The butcher, baker and grocer in Brehand are excellent. We found the best local creperie to be Ty Coz in Lamballe. The Ferme Pédagogique at St Trimoël is good value for younger children. We particularly recommend the Château de la Hunaudaye near Plédéliac, with its exhibition La vraie vie des princesses for princes & princesses of all ages ! Mr & Mrs Tarlet were as welcoming, friendly and generous to us as they seem to have been to everyone else
