Designed back in the 60s, Port Grimaud is an elaborate system of canals and islands linked by quaint bridges. Two main squares are full of shops, bars and restaurants, there is a weekly market and interestingly no two houses are designed the same. Most also have a yacht parked outside. The Suffren is a charming Provençal hotel on the market square in the centre of the village and its fully equipped bedrooms all have air conditioning, mini bar and balcony or terrace. Cars are not allowed to park on the island (free public car park at the port entrance) so the ideal way to discover your surroundings is on foot or by water taxi.
