With an impressive history that spans over 2000 years, Néris les Bains is one of France's oldest thermal spa resorts and has plenty to see and do - the old railway station now houses a tropical aquarium, the Maison du Patrimoine displays many of the historical artefacts found in the town, and there is also the amphitheatre, the necropolis and, of course, the Roman spas themselves. Right in the centre of town, a short walk from the spas, is the Hotel Mona Lisa whose imposing exterior hides a pleasant, relaxed hotel with bedrooms overlooking either the gardens or the park and casino where outdoor concerts are held on summer evenings.
