This sleepy town in the province of Lugo is dominated by a complex of historic buildings: the Keep, the San Vicente do Pino monastery and the Palace of the Conde de Lemos. The latter two have been beautifully restored and converted into a new Parador, opened in July 2003. There has been a monastery here since at least 915, but the current buildings are mainly 17th and 18thC. As well as all the comfort and luxury you would expect, the Parador also has an outdoor pool (July/Aug only), gym and jacuzzi. Garage parking approx. 10 euros/night.
